Building extension & high availability

Context
As part of its expansion, CIXI undertook the creation of a building extension dedicated to offices and conference spaces. This project involved moving users to the new wing while converting the old section into meeting rooms. This change in scale required a global overhaul of the network and server infrastructure.
The main technical challenge was the distance between the two zones, which exceeded 100 meters. This physical constraint made it impossible to use the existing server room for all cabling, providing us with the opportunity to create a second technical room to ensure connectivity for the extension.
This new infrastructure was designed to introduce High Availability (HA) within the company: internet link redundancy, Proxmox cluster redundancy, and NAS storage mirroring. Simultaneously, I monitored and assisted with the IT aspect of the integration of physical security (surveillance and access control) in collaboration with an external provider, while handling the associated network infrastructure requirements.
Finally, the project took place in a complex economic context marked by price volatility for components (especially RAM). It was necessary to balance hardware choices to remain within an acceptable budget range while guaranteeing professional performance and reliability.
